Oct 5                    Vice-presidential debate. Santa Fe Community College. Focus on foreign and domestic policy. Free. About DebateWatch: DebateWatch is a non-partisan voter education program of the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). DebateWatch brings citizens together to watch the televised debates, talk about what they learned, and report its findings to the commission. Each debate lasts for 90 minutes with moderated discussions following.

Oct 14                  Fellows from the Roswell Artist-in-Residence Foundation will exhibit their sculptures, paintings and installations in the Visual Arts Gallery at Santa Fe Community College. Oct 15                 “Birds at Risk: Endangered Birds of the World” to show at Randall Davey Audubon Center (3 miles east of the Santa Fe Plaza). Combining his skill as a wildlife artist and his passion for the conservation of birds, renowned wildlife artist Todd Telander of Taos has created a series of elegant and scientifically true oil paintings of selected endangered birds from North America and around the world. Events will run from Oct. 15 – Dec. 2004. An artist reception will be held Oct. 15, 5:00 p.m. - 7:30pm. Ten percent of all proceeds from the show will benefit Audubon New Mexico and the Randall Davey Center. Oct 15                   LúNASA, 8:00 p.m., The Lensic, Santa Fe’s Performing Arts Center is proud to present the return of Ireland’s all-star quintet LÚNASA, live in concert for one night at the Lensic (Sold-out audience in February 2002).

 

Oct 23                 Animal Protection of New Mexico (APNM) will bestow its 2004 Milagro Awards at a dinner and ceremony at the Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe that evening beginning at 5:00 p.m.  The gala event, which will also celebrate APNM’s 25th Jubilee anniversary, will include guest speaker Ingrid Newkirk, President of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

 

Nov 1                   Angelique Kidjo,7:30 p.m. The ultimate Afro-pop Diva hailing from the west African nation of Benin.
